Home | Explore Torbay | Galmpton Holiday Bungalows ~ A hidden gem in a charming Devonshire village

This peaceful development of individual holiday bungalows is a very special place in unique location that offers something for everyone.  Sitting on the edge of the village of Galmpton, the bungalows lie in the unspoilt natural beauty of the South Hams countryside, which rolls down to the stunning River Dart.  There are an abundance of walking trails that can take you through breathtaking scenery, through woodlands, riverside walks or on to the Coast Path where you can walk for miles and take in the beautiful views and the fresh sea air.

For those who prefer to hit the beach, just over a mile away you can find Broadsands beach with it’s beach cafés, watersports and golden sand, the perfect spot for ice-creams and sandcastles!  Or head over the headland by foot to pretty Elberry Cove, where you will find crystal clear waters, perfect for bathing… it’s dog friendly all year round too!

Two fantastic National Trust properties are on the doorstep, Agatha Christie’s impressive ‘Greenway’ and Art Deco ‘Coleton Fishacre’ with it’s tropical garden by the sea.

The amenities of Torbay are a short drive away, or take the ferry over to Dartmouth, the historic naval town on the river. See our blog: Things to do in South Devon – Coast Holiday Homes for a range of exciting and memorable things to do whilst you’re in the area.

The village of Galmpton itself is not to be overlooked!  It boasts a traditional Inn which serves great food and drinks and is just a short stroll down the hill into the heart of the village.  Galmtpon Creek and boatyard is home to a hub of emerging artisan businesses and a fantastic Riverside pizza restaurant.  The village shop is full of local fayre and essentials, and a great place to grab a coffee and a delicious slice of cake.

But back to the bungalow park…this place is very special indeed, it is a welcoming and tranquil retreat, full of mature shrubs and well-maintained gardens with wonderful river views.  Each bungalow boasts it’s own south-facing outdoor space where you can relax and listen to the bird song whilst planning fun days out in the surrounding area.

For dog lovers, your furry friends are welcome in most bungalows, many have enclosed outdoor space and a selection will accommodate 2 dogs – just ask!
