The Old Stables is a gorgeous, characterful cottage in the market town of Buckfastleigh, near Dartmoor National Park.
A peaceful, secluded hideaway with period features throughout, this tasteful conversion provides all the comfort and style for a truly unique holiday experience.
A former 18th Century stables and tucking loft, The Old Stables is situated at the end of a quiet courtyard in a peaceful setting.
When you open the door to the cottage, you step into the glass-roofed Orangery. It is a beautiful, bright room where you can enjoy a drink or read a book surrounded by fruit trees and flowering plants. This leads directly into an open living room with its wooden beams, wood burner and baby grand piano. It is such a relaxing and cosy place to be!
There is a full package of entertainment available with the 48″ Flatscreen TV, including the full SKY package plus BT Sports. With 4K Blueray, Wifi and a selection of DVD’s & books mean there is always something to do even if the weather is against you.
The open plan lounge-diner leads into a country cottage kitchen with terracotta floor tiles. From here, a door leads to a secluded, stone-walled courtyard with patio table and chairs, and a further lawned area - the setting for long summer evening drinks and meals together.
The Chapel Room downstairs leads from the lounge area and accommodates couples or two singles. With wooden beams and stone walls, this room has some unique features including circular window, granite post and Suffolk latch doors.
Up the open staircase leading onto a first floor landing is the family bathroom, complete with a hydrotherapy bath with spa jets, lighting and shower wand. Feature walls and beams, again make this a bathroom to spend time in.
