Description

Tucked away in a peaceful setting, this chocolate box thatched cottage is a delight to the eye. You really feel like you have stepped back in time as you enter the courtyard with mature shrubs and an enticing garden with stunning countryside views.

Step through the wooden stable door into the welcoming interior which is simply oozing with charm. The open-plan living space presents a well-equipped kitchen with handmade oak units. Views over the pretty front gardens can be enjoyed from the kitchen windows.

The dining area has a table and seating for four. The wonderful feature windows, with bespoke oak sill offer views of the walled front borders and the courtyard beyond.

Continue through into the inviting lounge with large log burner for cosy nights in; and bifold doors that open out onto the wonderful south facing garden, with the most spectacular uninterrupted rural views.

A wooden staircase takes you up to the first floor. The charming arch window is the centre piece of the landing, it is hard to walk past without admiring the detail and workmanship framing the picturesque view.

The beautiful oak beams continue throughout the upstairs and into the master bedroom. Enjoy the large super king bed; throw open the patio doors onto the roof terrace where you can relax, enjoy a morning coffee and take in the views.

The quaint twin bedroom offers two 2’6″single beds which can be zipped together to make a further king bedroom; and has pretty views over the front garden.

Outside, there is a large lawned garden overlooking the farm and the countryside beyond. There is a private driveway for one car with additional off-road parking if required for an extra vehicle.

Location

Blagdon is located in the heart of the South Devon countryside. The Old Linhay can be found tucked in a beautiful rural setting away from the hustle and bustle, offering a peaceful haven for those wishing to enjoy a relaxing holiday surrounded by natural beauty.

The historic market town of Totnes lies just 3.5 miles to the west offering a range of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Totnes is well noted for it’s vibrant indie scene and sits on the banks of the River Dart, making it a great spot to jump on one of the river boats that can take you to nearby Dartmouth.

Three miles to the East lie the popular seaside towns of Torbay, offering an abundance of beaches, excellent visitor attractions and the beautiful South West Coast Path where you can walk for miles and take in breathtaking coastal views.

Half an hour’s drive inland is the magnificent Dartmoor National Park. It is a paradise for nature lovers and those who enjoy walking and exploring.
