Location
The attractive market town of Buckfastleigh sits on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. It is a scenic location, by the rivers of Dart, Mardle and the Dean Burn.
Originally a thriving market town for wool production, Buckfastleigh is brimming over with echoes from its past. Ancient mills, characterful cottages, a 13th century church and a Benedictine Abbey are very much part of this thriving small town.
A cottage in Buckfastleigh gives you a chance to experience living in a historic home, with easy access to local shops, a farmers’ market (Thursdays), galleries, restaurants, glorious country walks and pubs. You may also like to try out the town’s outdoor swimming pool, skate park, tennis courts and bowling green.
Explore further afield for beaches and the coastal villages of Torbay, just half an hour drive away. Totnes is the nearest train station, just 15 minutes’ drive from Buckfastleigh, with trains to Exeter and Plymouth.
